On Tuesday September 27th 215 students from Athens Elementary, Immanuel Lutheran of Wisconsin Rapids, Neillsville Middle School, and Pittsville Elementary enjoyed Diversity Day at The Highground, a unique education-filled day. The students became a part of The Highground’s mission of healing and education.
Considering the wealth of cultural resources in north central Wisconsin, Diversity Day includes presentations given by:

Lillie Paustian – Mississippi Chactaw Native American
During a brief tour of The Highground,the students learned about respect, duty, honor and country. Our mission and objectives are to celebrate our similarities and differences, to recognize misinformation, to claim pride in group identity, to understand the personal impact of discrimination through the telling of stories and to learn hands-on tools for dealing effectively with discriminating comments and behavior. |
