Veterans Day 2011 brought a large crowd together at Fragments on The Highground to honor veterans and their families. Volunteers read the names of WI MIAs from Korea, Desert Storm and the Vietnam KIAs and MIAs as the Liberty Bell tolled to begin the 11:11a.m. ceremony.
Veterans were pinned with the traditional red ribbon prior to the beginning of the ceremony. The Neillsville American Legion Post 73 honored veterans by displaying their colors and Ron Vine played taps. Olivia Friemoth, Little Miss Neillsville lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance and Meg Cankar of Conover, Wisconsin sang the National Anthem and God Bless America. Pastor Al Houts gave an invocation and Kirk Rodman welcomed our guests. SFC/E7 James J. Liedtka, Jr. spoke briefly about thanking veterans.
