First Lady Tonette Walker along with Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett joined a group of walkers honoring veterans as they walked the trails on The Highground The four miles of walking trails at The Highground offer 54 unique, convertible benches that allow visitors to enjoy a book, have a picnic, meditate or just take a moment to stop and enjoy the scenery. The walk continues the first lady’s initiative to showcase Wisconsin’s scenic beauty while promoting health and wellness. Mrs. Walker encourages people to come out to The Highground and enjoy its extraordinarily maintained hiking trails.
As November is American Diabetes Awareness month, a certified diabetes educator from the Marshfield Clinic was present both during and after the walk to share exercise and general health tips on living with diabetes. The walk was held in collaboration with The Highground and Marshfield clinic. |
